I like a good sale!

Thanks to my co-worker, Kristin, I was able to hit up Once Upon A Child (a kids' resale shop) when they had their sale this summer.  You can get as much as you can fit into a grocery  bag for $15.  That might not seem like much until you start shoving stuff into a bag!  I walked out of there with over 50 items, some shoes included.  That means I only paid an average of like $.30 for each item, and over half of it was name-brand!  While I was busy shopping, Elliana was home with Daddy sniffing out a good sale.

Two Grandmas in One Day!

My mom came up to visit us and help us move, which was a huge blessing.  She was able to see how fun Elliana is with learning new things and wanting to explore/taste everything in reach.  My mom (Gran) introduced her to water out of a water bottle, which Elliana was eager to try!  Max's mom and her husband came into town just an hour or so after my mom left.  This was the first time she saw Elliana in person.  She read Elliana a story and entertained her while Max and I were able to take a much-needed nap!  Since both of our moms have birthdays in July, we were able to treat both to dinner when they were with us.

Time Flies!!!

So, it's been a quite awhile since I last posted, and I'm currently being reminded of part of the reason for the delay.  Last time I tried to post, my pics wouldn't upload.  Now that I'm trying again, my pics uploaded but won't go where I want them.  I think I'll just let it post as it wants to and move on.
We've been a little busy around here with moving, settling in, and going out of town for a wedding.  One of my good college friends and post-college roommate got married at the end of July, and we were able to travel to Wooster, OH, to celebrate with Molly and Brad.  It was a special treat to be able to spend time with another good friend and college roommate, Lindsey, and her husband, Jon.  Max and Jon got to know each other a little better, and Lins and I were able to catch up.  Elliana came along for the ride and was a great little sport.  Lins and I did a reading during the wedding, and we decided to coordinate magenta and black outfits for the rehearsal.  No, not really...it was totally unplanned!  Anyway, in the midst of the moving and traveling, we've taken time to enjoy the sunshine and pool.   Elliana seems to be taking a liking to the pool, which was no great surprise since she likes baths so much.  She's quite content to just lounge in her bathtub in the shade...no real pool necessary.  :)
