For Elliana's 1st birthday, we had a little party to celebrate! We had family that helped us celebrate, consisting of Grandpa Joe, Uncle Jason, Tony, and Gran. And, we had friends who came to help us celebrate. Heidi came with her mommy (Amanda) and daddy (Alex), and Charles Joey came with his mommy (Kristin) and daddy (Charlie). We were so glad they could join us for cake and ice cream! Heidi is almost a year older than Elliana and calls her "Nana." It's quite cute to hear her say it. They have become buddies over the last several months. It'll be fun to watch that little friendship flourish as Elliana starts to get more mobile and talkative. Charles Joey is 9 days younger than Elliana and all boy. Hopefully he wasn't too disappointed not to find little cars and trucks amidst Elliana's toys. We were able to celebrate his birthday with him the next weekend.
Elliana seemed to like her cake and ice cream despite the faces you see above. She was actually more focused on the spoon I took to her with the cake and ice cream than with the actual food. She tried to eat it with the spoon, then tried using no hands. As you can see, I intervened. I'm not sure why other than I didn't see her getting too far with the spoon.
Max worked on a little video that was a compilation of video clips and pictures we've taken over the past year. We were able to share that with our guests and take them on a little walk down memory lane.
