It is hard to believe we have already celebrated Elliana's first birthday! Looking back, this last year has been full of growth in many ways. Our little girl entered the world at 7 lbs 7 oz and is now walking around in our world weighing almost 23 lbs (though she wasn't quite walking at her birthday). As much as she is loving this new thing called walking, she also seems to enjoy just pausing for some snuggle time with Daddy or Mommy. A few months ago, she wouldn't have laid her head on our shoulders unless she was exhausted. Now, it's a pretty frequent activity even when she's not sleepy. Max and I are enjoying it! She really enjoys waving at people in the store and saying "hi," especially when they're not really paying attention to her. More often than not, they hear her and return the "hi" and a smile. She loves watching Mommy crawl across the floor towards her toys and being thrown (gently) into the back of the couch cushion by Daddy. His games are the best. She also loves being spun around in Daddy's desk chair. Hopefully the other pics on this blog show the multitude of other activities of daily living that Elliana loves. Max and I have grown in our appreciation of her smiles, laughs, funny noises, silly faces, and her ability to be enamored by a shoe, empty spice container, any door that can be opened and shut, keys, etc. for minutes on end. We look forward to teaching her so many more things, especially about God and His big plan for all of history and His creation with all of its intricacies. Happy Birthday, Elliana! We're very thankful that God blessed us with you.
